Best Social Media Platforms to Use
How to Get Seen on Social Media
Best Social Media Platforms to Use: Mastodon and Clapper! (The best we have for now, and in some ways not so dependable.)
* Updates! (Read the updates posted below at the end of this page.) *
For the Caring People:
They keep removing this information on YouTube (a comment I posted that was deleted), but I thought you all should know. If you want your posts to be seen, post them on Mastodon and Clapper, that is if the algorithm is still genuine (chronological) and decent posts aren't being suppressed. Be sure to use hashtags for all the social media platforms that you post onto. (Note: An update is posted below; please keep reading.)
Tips (A Few Helpful Things to Know):
For Mastodon, when you post to the general Mastodon servers (to any of them), and you've written a few hashtags in the description of your post, the post will be found in all the servers when anyone searches those hashtags. You can post to individual niche servers (communities) and also to any of the general servers, and just be sure to use hashtags on all your posts.
For Clapper, you need a newer phone/mobile device in order to use it for posting. Otherwise, you might possibly have issues with uploading videos. Both platforms have great features, and Clapper has an excellent music library. Overall, Mastodon and Clapper are the two best social media platforms to use for your posts to be seen (the best platforms for now). I admit the two platforms may have some issues, but they're the best platforms for now, until either those problems are fixed or someone creates a better platform. They're great platforms overall, but they could most definitely improve in some ways. I also recommend that you learn the rules for both platforms, and be sure to not break any of them. (Note: An update for what social media platforms to use is posted below.)
Please understand, I'm not being paid to say any of this. I've done the research, and that's what I've found. We're going to need reliable social media platforms during this era, platforms that don't play algorithmic games (i.e. suppressing posts), and those two platforms are the best (at least not terrible like some of the others).
Social Media Marketing Education:
Watch Gary Vee videos for how to post onto social media. He's a caring and generally authentic person, with great expertise in building a brand and growing your social media pages, although he does still recommend some of the social media platforms that have proven to be quite awful in their algorithmic methods.
There are a few others who are posting helpful "how-to social media" videos. High Season Co is one of them, another great channel for general social media information. Other YouTube channels that may be helpful are: heyDominik, Jade Beason, Modern Millie, Neil Patel, Rochelle Be, Boss From Home (@BossFromHome1357), Katie Steckly, Melanie Renee, and Odetta Rockhead-Kerr. You can search for more, but those channels tend to post a lot of helpful information for social media marketing, and some of them also provide information for creating digital businesses.
Web Hosting Companies:
For a web hosting company for your blog, I recommend doing your research on who owns the company before signing up for a plan with them, due to some companies and organizations in these modern times being controversial. This potentially puts blogs at risk for not having the freedom to post about topics they may desire to post about. This concern also potentially puts some blogs at risk for security breaches. Some bloggers may not consider who owns the hosting company to be a concern, but it is crucially important, and it will become increasingly more important over time. Think "long term/for the future." I personally recommend Hostinger, but you may find another web hosting company that you prefer. Do your research on the most recommended web hosting companies ("web hosting providers"). For example, you can search "nation of _________ (web hosting company) owner" to obtain some general information.

Update! (Update 1 of 4 for What Social Media Platforms to Use):
However, despite all the great information from the social media experts, whose recommendations are overall helpful and useful, I suggest not focusing on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, or YouTube as your main social media platforms to post onto. Instead, I recommend posting especially onto platforms that care about your content being seen organically. Terribly so, we are yet to find which platforms those are, because, if not all of them, most of them these days are corrupted, especially shown by their suppression of content, and some of them also making it difficult to promote posts for more views and follows (i.e. unjustifiably banning advertising accounts, using bots as viewers, or making it difficult to post advertisements through their overly complicated advertising platform).
That is why engagement on other people's posts is essential for gaining visitors to your own social media pages. That's also why directories for bloggers and other small businesses will be important. Social media influencers will also be necessary during this era, those who already have an audience and therefore who you can pay to promote your business to their audience, even with just a link and your brand name and/or "about" info in their bio (on their Linktree or Beacons bio page). The link should point to your blog or company (brand) website, whether you've moved to another country and have a local business or it's online.
You can search for compatible social media influencers on social media influencer directory platforms, such as Collabstr, as a way to find them. Collabstr has proven to be a decent social media influencer directory so far, but you can search for other influencer directories if you want to. View the information further below, titled "Some Key Advice for Moving Onward," for more information about gaining visitors through social media marketing during this era. If you don't mind doing so, be sure to let others know about all this information, so their content, too, can be seen on social media.
Update! (Update 2 of 4 for What Social Media Platforms to Use):
For TikTok alternatives, in addition to Clapper (Update: Clapper is presently corrupted; they're heavily suppressing content), UpScrolled and Loops Video are great platforms and may grow in the number of visitors and subscribers over time. No algorithm games there either so far (except possibly for UpScrolled, being that it appears they may be catering only to one audience). Overall, content shouldn't be suppressed, unless it's damaging, and all content should be in chronological order, the content overall being easily found in both the hashtags and the trending topics. Those two factors are lacking in all four of the recommended platforms (Mastodon, Clapper, UpScrolled, and Loops), with the only issue with UpScrolled being that their content is more so for the Arab and Muslim World audience, not for everyone else. UpScrolled is owned by a Palestinian app designer/developer, and I'm glad to see posts about the oppressions in Palestine not be suppressed (I'm assuming; as far as I know). Beyond that, I don't think it can be counted on for making posts in a variety of categories, by a variety of content creators, posts that will be seen by the general audience.
For some examples of these issues on the other platforms (particularly content suppression), search #palestine (also #freepalestine) and #smallbusiness to get a clearer idea of what I'm referring to. View also the trending topics for all the platforms, especially the chronological order for the recent postings, to get a clearer picture of the concerns I've mentioned in this post. I'm looking forward to seeing improvements on all four of the recommended platforms (Mastodon, Clapper, UpScrolled, and Loops), that's if the companies decide to improve their platforms. Until then, those four are still the best social media platforms available to the general public. What to Do: Demand better! Pressure them ("improve or boycott"). [One more thing, forget about Neptune App. Don't expect it to be launched any time soon or in the near future. Some apps can be like that. We move onward.]
Update! (Update 3 of 4 for What Social Media Platforms to Use):
* I recommend Tumblr for a social media platform where you can post your content, for the following 4 reasons:
1. There's a large community on Tumblr, and it's diverse with visitors from different locations of the world and with different kinds of interests.
2. On Tumblr, they accept posts on social justice topics (such as for Palestine, Congo, and other nations around the world where there are social justice concerns).
3. Tumblr has a "latest" (chronological) search option, including a filter so you can search for different types of posts.
4. Tumblr is available on both desktop and mobile.
Update! (Update 4 of 4 for What Social Media Platforms to Use):
For an alternative to Substack, I recommend Ghost.org. It's a newsletter and blogging platform that's similar to Substack and with more features. A monthly fee is required to use the platform, making each content creator a valued customer, and there's discoverability for common search topics. I recommend that you do your own independent research on Substack alternatives, but Ghost.org is what I've found so far to be the most recommended and most dependable Substack alternative. There are a variety of reasons why some content creators may be thinking they'd rather not use Substack (or have already made up their minds), including the suppression of user content.
I do not recommend Patreon. That platform has been trouble for some time, such as them deactivating accounts for a suspicion of fraudulent activity. This includes after just having recently signed up for an account (without posting anything), therefore not having an actual reason to deactivate some accounts. The account owner tries to sign in one day and is immediately informed that their account has been deactivated (by a message that's posted at that moment). This behavior of theirs is an indication that they can and may deactivate a Patreon account at any time in the near or far away future, for any reason, and then just say it was due to fraudulent activity. Beware of YouTube for the same and other reasons.
For more information about Ghost.org, search on YouTube for videos about the platform. Several videos over the years have been posted about Ghost.org, most of the videos being recommendations for the platform.
* More platforms that are becoming favorites for visitors are:
Stoat (stoat.chat) as a Discord alternative and Vocal (vocal.media) as another place to post and read content.
Important!
Note: Warn them (the businesses) to not work with the Reptilians or we'll leave. All praises and glory be to The Almighty God, including Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many thanks also to the platforms and companies/organizations that are refusing to work with the Reptilians, gratefulness for the businesses who care about the Humans.
Caution:
Platforms that are either owned by or are working with the Reptilians: Canva, Pixabay, and Pixelfed. For a Canva-like program, I recommend Adobe Express (not compatible with older versions of Windows). For video editing only, I recommend Filmora. For clip art and photography to use for posts, I recommend Freepik. For an alternative to Pixabay (free no-copyright photos), I recommend Unsplash. If there are any other apps or platforms that you've found and prefer, then excellent. Just be sure to ask God first, because they, too, might be owned by the Reptilians or are working with them. The ones I've recommended here are ones that I know of, having used them myself, and they're approved by The Almighty God.
[Note: If you're having problems with Canva lately, it's not a coincidence. If you are experiencing problems with Canva and you don't mind posting about it, you can screenrecord your experience and post it onto social media. For myself, I've had a variety of problems in Canva's platform lately, including trouble with editing clips for making videos to post. I'm gathering information on my own experience with Canva and will post about it sometime in the near future. In regards to Pixabay, not only avoid using their photos, but also don't use any of their music. (Don't use any of Pixabay's assets, whether photos, illustrations, music, videos, etc. Don't use any of them.) For music to use, there's tons of great music in Filmora, and there are other no-copyright music sources online.]
Some Key Advice for Moving Onward:
For now, until those apps are fixed to the ideal standard, post wherever you want to (even on Bluesky and Substack). Post especially on Tumblr (recently recommended). When posting, be sure to use hashtags, and after posting, it's best that you engage on other creators' posts, especially by writing comments on posts for several accounts (for several content creator pages). Be sure your username and profile image stand out. Writing comments on posts at Medium, with a link to your blog in your bio, is another great way to bring visitors to your blog and/or other social media pages. Overall, engaging on social media will help to bring more traffic to your social media page, and thereby also more traffic to your blog. That's the best way to be seen for now, the best way to obtain and also to steadily increase the number of regular visitors to your blog. Lastly, when the genuine blogger directories are made available, be sure to join them. (Note: In the meantime, keep demanding better from social media platforms.)
